There have been many cyberattacks launched by Iran, China, and Russia against the infrastructure of the United States, as well as American companies. We recently witnessed water treatment plants across America being attacked.
The US government warned that the entire power grid of the nation could be shut down for up to 18 months quite easily. There are three main large power stations that are connected to all of the nations power grids. If they were attacked and destroyed then we would all be in the dark for up to 18 months. I wish the media hadn't informed the entire world how to do this. Some things should be kept quiet.
All of America's military bases have been told by the government to prepare for 90 days without power or water. They were instructed to be well stocked and self sufficient.
PROJECT FORTRESS: The Department of Defense is updating its domestic defense strategy to prepare for multi-domain warfare scenarios, including widespread power grid blackouts, satellite interference, and supply chain disruptions.

It is a very good idea for the American people to also be well stocked with food, water, flashlights, batteries, first aid kits, as well as other survival products.
